4 very old rotors added to the pile of pinions, rings, axle stubs, and drive flanges. I dont know if its just familiarity or if they really are that great but working on toyotas is such a treat; everything is straight forward and requires very little in the way of special tools or knowledge. Its like they only gave the designers a 10, 12, 17, 21 mm wrench set, a couple of screwdrivers and a crap ton of reusable plastic clips when they went to make it.

Good looking pair.

My wife has officially tagged it too, so its now her territory.

My old Mercedes uses a hand full of wrenches for pretty much everything too.

Nice. I know it was recently, but I don’t remember, did you end up finding the V8 Land Cruiser locally?

yeah, just down the street from my work, but its a California car, thankfully, which means...up until this winter...it has zero rust. Lovely.

such a joy to only need a 12 piece socket set to do a lot of work.

After working on my grandmas Highlander and my wife’s scion all I can say is not all Toyotas. The most absurd evap system I’ve ever seen and the absolute dumbest thermostat location on the V6 highlander.

The Scion ate a water pump at 30k miles. The new water pump was too big to fit in between the engine and the side of the car so I had to unbolt the engine and jack it up out of the engine bay.

I have the ratcheting box wrenches and they do a lot, tight spots too. I think I only use three regularly. Of course I change the air cleaner mounts on the diesel once a year cuz they shake the shit out of it. I’ve done everything possible to this engine, even got the new rack damper bolt and it still shakes more than some other w123s I’ve seen.

okay...Toyota trucks. Their cars aren’t so great. One of the reasons I intentionally avoided the highlander even though it would have probably served our needs a little better.
